crosszeon A trully outstanding production, with amazing musicmanship and songwriting. No song overstays it´s wellcome and is always morphing into something interesting. I would easily call this the best album of the year.

Deej Love this album, aggressive catchy heavy music that highlights a high level of maturity and complexity. Every song is outstanding and it seems to shorten the journey, I never want it to end. Not sure how I missed this band..
Robert Graefe

paulstfu What a masterpiece!! This is one of those unique bands that always deliver pure gold and diamonds in each album, since I discovered the outstanding Vasilisa. I can't believe how you manage to keep your unique sound and yet make something that sounds so fresh! Definitely deserve more recognition around the globe, outstanding album, outstanding musicians, one of the best albums of the year and definitely one of the greatest things to ever come up from this infamous year 2020. Favorite track: Limbus Inn.

I’m a peaceful man I heard you call I’m a helping hand I can save you all just let go enjoy the rise of democracy till it’s done no need to fear, in the end it’s worth the trouble meanwhile you better calm down dawn, another day in here another day in peace or so thought but now it feels like a disease it’s daily life routine a sickness can’t be seen as long as the sheets are clean I know that freedom comes from war it’s rotten to the core the wagon trains roll in it’s easy to ignore but once you question why there’s chemicals inside and what these guns are for you can’t get it outta your head anymore and the sky it fades to grey but the air is damp and warm heavy rain is on its way that we’ve been waiting for all the birds are flying low like the calm before the storm I can hear it rumbling our time has come

Amen 05:29
Another scandal in the news how should I act all surprised about that when there is nothing left to lose we can only lose ourselves to this crap a new tyranny out of outdated problems that won’t go away if there is a god how could this happen? if there is a god we don’t need a devil this can’t be heaven, no I saw him coming to this land he was glad he found a place where he could sleep without a pistol in his hand like he used to do to protect his family but all he can see is furious hatred but what has he done? if there is a god how could this happen? if there is a god we don’t need a devil if there is a god I’ve learnt my lesson if there is a god we are the weapon this can’t be heaven no! we stand tall against your racism against your anxiety about this future we learn from what you do wrong we’re going to win we’re not gonna fall this time in this cozy room it’s hard to tell who once has started this carousel and who is to blame for this mess at the borders our economy’s healthy and works too well as long as the weapons and drugs we sell only fly one-way across the deep water If there is a god and even if not I can see the flood if there is a god how could this happen

Four hours in this freezing water the smell of fear and these blustering waves are wild a sign from the sea to go back cooped up with 400 people praying to god to get out of this goddamn war the only chance to get out of this cycle enjoy the rise of democracy till it’s done only rain is made in heaven let us try to stick together it’s not a noble aim to be kind this won’t go away, you’re not blind I’ve been caught in this rust-covered shithole I’ve put my life in the hands of the biggest scum they make money with our fear of dying no clue when the fucking ride is ending if I just jumped this would finally all be done the cold ocean’s far too tempting only rain is made in heaven all the rest are lies let us try to stick together because people die it’s not a noble aim to be kind this won’t go away, you’re not blind let’s go blind

Oh well, a big suit in a coffin what did he do to deserve this room as he let thousands of innocent souls drown another scandal in the news how should I act all surprised about that when there is nothing left to lose we can only lose ourselves in this crap the few that made it from that boat considered lucky to be breathing and alive he’s far from being free to go and it even feels as if he’s free to die I’d do it all again I’d do it one more time as long as it brings me far away I’ll never give up trying to live a humane life but living’s pretty hard today and still I’m hoping I can stay If there is a god and even if not I can see the flood if there is a god how could this happen

Limbus Inn 06:17
I don’t know how I made it through the border I’ll never know why I am still alive I’m just another empty-handed soldier waiting for his application to arrive I can’t go back from here cause it’d mean death there’s no way out of here though I can’t stay in here, I’m undesired tell me if I’m free to die or if I’m condemned to live say do I have any rights in this cage that I am in yes I know, yes I know that I could be trapped for years but I wanna get out of here please let me in there’s not a moral compass in your papers you can’t rely on god or all your laws if there’s a breathing person threatened with being sent back to be killed I bet you'd hesitate to sign the final clause I’d do it all again I’d do it one more time I’ll never give up trying to live a humane life if there is a god how could this happen? if there is a god we don’t need a devil if there is a god I’ve learnt my lesson if there is a god we are the weapon if there is a god

Wrecked and frustrated the more he tries just to fit in here the more he turns out to be a prisoner in this free world the mob degrades him a little stone in a system without trust turns out he’s nothing but criminal dust some say it takes a while to turn around their minds to wash away the fears they built in their depressing lives although he could be glad to leave this war behind they still won’t let him get some sleep at night oh! we will protest and set their homes on fire expel them from our holy land our home we don’t know them and we don’t wanna know they’re different, that’s why they need to go that’s all wade in the water don’t lose your faith try not to falter on this weary way I’d rather be hated and end up in jail than going back home again and die in this hell wade in the water don’t lose your faith try not to falter on this weary way I’d do it all again I’d do it one more time as long as it brings me far away I’ll never give up trying to live a humane life
8.
Someday I will recover from the pain that I’ve gone through they say this was my chance to come alive and start anew I’ve gotta prove I’m tame like a lion in a cage cause my nature is wild and that’s not gonna change I can barely wash all this dirt off my face I’m a disgrace and all this could take some time everything’s gonna be alright until then I’m alive enjoy democracy till it’s done don’t fear, in the end it’s worth the trouble meanwhile you better calm down my hands can touch the ceiling when I’m lying on the floor I planned to move out once I got what I’m still waiting for I promised to dance in their circus ring almost blind from the lights and I can’t see a thing and as Charles D. said it’s a game you can’t win not a chance without the blue blood within I’d do it all again I’d do it one more time as long as it brings me far away I’ll never give up trying to live a humane life but living’s pretty hard today
9.
In this cozy room it’s hard to tell who really has started this carousel and who is to blame for this mess at the borders our economy’s healthy and works too well as long as the weapons and drugs we sell only fly one-way across the deep water if there is a god how could this happen? if there is a god we don’t need a devil if there is a god I’ve learnt my lesson if there is a god we are the weapon our houses are nice and our gardens clean there’s still some champagne in the limousine we take a deep breath as we watch the horizon so peaceful and quiet lies the sea a cute little boat appears to me so pure and remote like a heavenly island

about

CHAOSBAY's second concept album ASYLUM (Timezone Records) is a harsh statement against xenophibia, racism and hatred. After their previous record VASILISA in 2015 the German 4-piece is back: Even harder, closer to Metalcore, further away from Classic Rock than before. Grown-up, aware of their strengths, the boys celebrate their incredibly energetic interplay with almost pedantic perfection at a rapid pace. Produced in a modern and uncompromising manner, powerful, virtuoso, tricky and yet always focused on catchy hooklines, the record leads you through the nine chapters, between which recurring motifs and topics are hidden.

Aside from genre-typical fantasy epics and surreal dream sequences, the band expresses their opinion on racism, xenophobia, the refugee problem and moral decay in times of capitalism in a cynical and haunting form. The previous released singles "Amen" and "Soldiers" already gave an impression of the social criticism in this album, as well as individual stories of victims of the refugee crisis in the last years, always looking for more warmth, empathy and humanity in this world.

“Somehow, it no longer felt so sensible for me to come up
with stories at a time when there is enough to tell about what
is really happening. That was much more important to me,
”said singer and main songwriter Jan Listing in an interview
with the Shieldmaiden's Voice blog.
