Four hours in this freezing water
the smell of fear
and these blustering waves are wild
a sign from the sea to go back
cooped up with 400 people
praying to god to get out of this goddamn war
the only chance to get out of this cycle
enjoy the rise of democracy till it’s done
only rain is made in heaven
let us try to stick together
it’s not a noble aim to be kind
this won’t go away, you’re not blind
I’ve been caught
in this rust-covered shithole
I’ve put my life in the hands of the biggest scum
they make money with our fear of dying
no clue when the fucking ride is ending
if I just jumped this would finally all be done
the cold ocean’s far too tempting
only rain is made in heaven
all the rest are lies
let us try to stick together
because people die
it’s not a noble aim to be kind
this won’t go away, you’re not blind
Every single member of this band is incredibly skilled in their own right, but I love how much they accentuate each other's talents into these masterful tracks. The whole album is excellent. I'm so happy they were finally able to come to my home state and perform.
Incredible band, can't wait to listen to what comes next. quantumquail
Perhaps a softer, more “pop-forward” album compared to Inmazes and Witness however equally as effective. Vola simply know how to make approachable and great music. 8/10 RJ
Midwestern prog-metal stalwarts go for the throat on their new EP, featuring a roiling cover of the Smashing Pumpkins' “1979.” Bandcamp New & Notable Aug 7, 2019
A thorough repudiation of any claim that metal music is uniformly angry / negative. Bombastic synth prog with death growls, riffs, and clean flourishes. This record always makes me smile. bloodbrulee
